WYVERN Registered

Baseline participation / transparency

A Registered Operator participates in WYVERN’s safety-data network and provides information used for safety vetting. A Registered PASS can check aircraft, pilot, and insurance information.

WYVERN Wingman

A substantial step above Registered

The operator has been audited which evaluates areas including flight operations, training, maintenance, Safety Management Systems (SMS), risk management, and organizational controls. WYVERN describes the standard as incorporating ICAO principles, SMS standards, and recognized industry best practices.

WYVERN Wingman PRO

Highest level of the three

Wingman PRO builds on Wingman certification. The operator must demonstrate a fully effective SMS, an ongoing positive safety culture, effective management of human and organizational factors, and continuous conformity with applicable standards.

What is a Part 135 operator?

An operator certificated by the FAA under Part 135 to fly on-demand charter. Every Vision Air charter is sourced through FAA-certified Part 135 operators that meet Vision Air’s safety standards.

What do ARGUS Gold, Platinum and Platinum Elite mean?

Gold requires an operating certificate held for at least one year, at least one turbine aircraft, a historical safety analysis, pilot background checks and a one-day remote audit. Platinum adds a full ARGUS audit of the safety management system, emergency response, operational control, training and maintenance. Platinum Elite adds maintenance and operations reviews every six months and on-site company-wide reviews every two years.

What is WYVERN Wingman?

A WYVERN Wingman operator has been audited in areas including flight operations, training, maintenance, safety management systems, risk management and organizational controls. Wingman PRO builds on it and requires a fully effective SMS and a positive, ongoing safety culture.

What does Vision Air check beyond the operator?

The aircraft, the crew’s qualifications, insurance and the operational factors relevant to each trip.

Does Vision Air operate the aircraft?

No. Vision Air Charter is an air charter broker, not a direct air carrier. Flights are performed by independent, FAA-certificated air carriers that keep full operational control of the aircraft.
